Swedish Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch recently sparked widespread debate with controversial comments regarding the integration of Muslims into Swedish society.
She also added that Muslims who want to practice Sharia Law should stay away from Europe.
She is the Minister for Energy, Business, and Industry and Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden and she represents the Christian Democrats party.

"Islam must adapt. Too many people practice Islam in Sweden and Europe, as they do in totalitarian states. It has to end. Islam must adapt to our fundamental common values, which make Sweden Sweden and Europe Europe. It is precisely these values that enable us to live in tolerance, peace and freedom with each other. Some values are not optional."
Speaking at a political event, Busch stated that "Islam must adapt to Swedish values" and suggested that Muslims who do not integrate should leave the country.
She also condemned practices such as honor killings, beheadings, the stoning of women, and the imposition of Sharia law, insisting they have no place in Sweden.
Busch's statement has provoked mixed reactions, both within Sweden and internationally. Supporters argue that her position is necessary to preserve Swedish cultural values and uphold the country’s legal and human rights standards. They see her perspective as a way to ensure that all residents, regardless of background, adhere to Swedish laws and embrace the country’s commitment to liberal, democratic values.

However, her comments have also drawn significant criticism. Many accuse Busch of promoting Islamophobia and stoking social tensions, arguing that her statements risk further alienating Muslims in Sweden.
Critics worry that such rhetoric could marginalize the Muslim community, potentially deepening social divides and deepening existing tensions surrounding immigration and integration.
Sweden, like many European countries, has seen an increase in migration, particularly from Islamic countries, in recent years. This has fueled ongoing debates around integration, cultural identity, and national values.
Busch’s comments reflect a broader European conversation, with countries like France and the UK also having similar challenges related to Muslim migration and integration.
