Her husband 41, referred to in media reports as "Thomas," is accused of strangling, dismembering, and disposing of her remains in a gruesome manner, according to local authorities.
The crime took place in Binningen, a suburb near the Swiss city of Basel, as reported by Swiss outlets 20min, Basellandschaftliche Zeitung (bzbasel), and others.
Initial reports from Thomas claimed he found Joksimovic dead near their staircase and panicked. He admitted to dismembering her but denied being responsible for her death, stating it was an act of self-defense.
However, subsequent investigations led him to allegedly confess to the murder in March 2024. Authorities found inconsistencies in his account, which suggested a much darker scenario than self-defense.

According to forensic reports cited by multiple Swiss media outlets, including bzbasel and FM1 Today, Joksimovic was strangled before being dismembered with a jigsaw, garden shears, and other tools in the laundry room of their home.
The details surrounding the disposal of her body are particularly disturbing. Thomas allegedly chopped up Joksimovic's remains, "pureed" them in a blender and dissolved them in a chemical substance. These gruesome details, documented in the autopsy report, directly contradicted the husband's claims that he acted in panic after a supposed attack by his wife.
Joksimovic had a public profile in Switzerland, having participated in the 2007 Miss Switzerland competition and serving as a catwalk coach. She was described as a down-to-earth person with interests in documentaries, reading, and playing foot volleyball.
Friends and family were left devastated by her death. Former Miss Switzerland Christa Rigozzi expressed her shock in an interview, saying "It’s terrible. I’m really shocked. I’m thinking of her two daughters. She was such a beautiful and kind-hearted woman."
Authorities are still in the process of filing charges against Thomas, who remains in custody while awaiting trial. The couple's two children have been placed in protective care following the tragic incident.
