The horrifying assault was captured on video and has since gone viral, showing the woman being brutally hit with sticks and dragged by her hair. The footage also shows a crowd of onlookers, including women, elderly men, and children, standing by and not intervening.
The incident took place in Dadenggre - West Garo Hills of the state of Meghalaya, where the woman was mercilessly kicked and beaten by multiple men. Despite the brutal nature of the assault, no one from the crowd attempted to stop the attackers.
According to the reports the police have since arrested five individuals in connection with the incident.This incident highlights the urgent need for societal change and stricter law enforcement to protect women from such violent acts.
