In the 40-minute discussion, President Biden, Obama, and Kimmel highlighted the achievements of the current administration. They also spent a lot of time discussing the dangers of Donald Trump possibly becoming president again.
President Biden expressed concern that Trump might get to choose two more Supreme Court judges. He said, “The Supreme Court has never been as out of kilter as it is today,” and highlighted that this court has never been so far off track.
President Biden pointed out that after the Dobbs decision reversed Roe vs. Wade, Justice Clarence Thomas suggested rethinking other rulings, including those on IVF and contraception. When someone in the audience shouted about gay rights, President Biden firmly responded, “Not on my watch.”
Before introducing the two presidents, Kimmel played a 2020 video of Trump predicting that if he wasn’t elected, major holidays would cease to exist. Kimmel asked President Biden if he found it satisfying to see how wrong Trump was about his presidency.
As soon as he appeared on stage, President Biden quickly made a sharp remark about Trump, saying, “I could have done nothing and done better than he was doing.”
Kimmel then listed Biden’s accomplishments, adding humorous comments throughout.
Kimmel mentioned President Biden’s goal to “restore the soul of America” and wondered if an exorcism was needed, referring to Biden’s visit with the Pope. Biden laughed and discussed how easy it is to spread lies nowadays.
Obama talked about Trump’s recent legal issues and how such behavior has become normalized. He pointed out that President Biden upholds certain standards and values that Trump does not.
During the conversation, President Biden also tried some humor. When discussing how some Americans seem to have forgotten what Trump’s presidency was like, he reminded them of Trump’s poor handling of the pandemic.
The event was attended by celebrities like George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Barbra Streisand and is said to be the largest Democratic fundraiser ever.
The fundraiser, graced by stars like George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Barbra Streisand, is being hailed as the grandest Democratic fundraising event to date. The amount raised surpasses the $26 million collected at a similar event in New York's Radio City Music Hall earlier in March.

For weeks, the Biden campaign has been promoting this glamorous event, attracting supporters with a chance to win a trip and meet the celebrities involved. Kimmel humorously noted the turnout's correlation with the numerous email reminders sent out.
First Lady Jill Biden also addressed the crowd, introduced by Streisand who praised her as an ideal neighbor, unlike those who might hoist an upside-down American flag.
The First Lady highlighted Trump's desire for absolute power in his pursuit of the presidency.
The event saw a turnout of thousands, including entertainment industry notables like Damon Lindelof, Marta Kauffman, agents Bryan Lourd and Craig Gering, comedian Kathy Griffin, and film executive Jim Gianopoulos.
Political figures such as Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass were also present, participating in a photo session with President Biden and Obama. Los Angeles City Councilman Kevin de Leon was in attendance too. As expected, security was tight due to a significant police presence and vocal pro-Palestinian protesters outside.
The evening's performances included Sista Strings' rendition of “Lift Every Voice,” The Silhouettes' act, Sheryl Lee Ralph's powerful “God Bless America,” and appearances by Jason Bateman and Kathryn Hahn. Jack Black sported patriotic overalls over a Dark Brandon T-shirt.
In response to the anticipated criticism of Trump at the fundraiser, Jessica Millan Patterson, head of the California Republican Party, criticized President Biden's presidency on Friday. She highlighted issues such as inflation, border policies, and foreign affairs as failures of his administration, stating that no Hollywood glamor could overshadow President Biden's shortcomings.
