Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus is relieved that his marriage to Firerose has ended.

After splitting from his longtime wife Tish Cyrus, Billy Ray found love again with singer Firerose. However, he has now filed for divorce from Firerose, and according to a source who spoke to PEOPLE magazine, he is more than relieved with his decision. The couple had been married only for seven months.
A source said, "His instincts have been correct all along. He believes she only married him for financial and other reasons. He's convinced that she didn't marry him for love."

Cyrus cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct as reasons for the divorce. Firerose, in a counter-complaint filed on June 14, accused Cyrus of extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse and stated that he filed for divorce the day before her scheduled double mastectomy ( breast cancer surgery). She claimed that his drug use and marijuana consumption made him unpredictable and volatile towards her.
On June 17, Cyrus responded with another complaint, claiming Firerose blocked at least one of his daughters from contacting him via his mobile devices and tried to isolate him from his family. He also accused her of making 37 fraudulent charges on his credit cards, totaling $96,986.

Cyrus and Firerose had worked together before their romantic involvement, collaborating on the song "New Day" in July 2021 and performing it on various talk shows.
At that time, Cyrus was still married to Tish. Billy Ray and Tish were married for 28 years until Tish filed for divorce in April 2022, citing irreconcilable differences.
In August 2022, Firerose posted a picture with Cyrus on his birthday. They quietly announced their engagement in October 2022, sharing a selfie where Firerose wore a diamond ring. They married in October 2023 but separated less than a year later.
