Over the weekend, the 33-year-old actress posted several photos, showing her joy in this new chapter of her life. She added selfies and a snapshot of a New York Times article titled, "We're entering a joyful new era of lesbian fashion."

In her caption, she wrote, “blessed to be entering the Joyful New Era bb,” ending it with a heart-on-fire emoji and a pride flag. Louisa shared the post on her mother’s 75th birthday, making the announcement extra special. Louisa is best known for her role as Marian Brook in HBO's "The Gilded Age."

Louisa, born on June 12, 1991, initially pursued a different career path before embracing her passion for acting. She graduated from Vassar College with a degree in psychology and worked in advertising for two years.
However, the call of the stage was too strong to ignore. She later graduated from the Yale School of Drama and went on to perform in various theater productions, including "Romeo and Juliet" at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre.

Her television debut in "The Gilded Age" has brought her wide recognition. The show, set in the late 19th century, explores the lives of New York City's elite families, with Louisa's character, Marian Brook, navigating the societal expectations of the era.

Louisa Jacobson Gummer is the youngest daughter of Meryl Streep and Don Gummer. After being separated for six years, Meryl Streep announced her separation from Don Gummer, Louisa's father.
Last October, Meryl said that she and her husband Don Gummer had separated six years ago and have been living separate lives since then. The couple, who married in 1978, have four children together: Henry, aged 43, Mamie, aged 40, Grace, aged 37, and Louisa, aged 33. Their last public appearance together was at the 2018 Oscars ceremony.

Louisa's siblings include actresses Mamie and Grace Gummer, and musician Henry Wolfe. Her role as Marian Brook on HBO's series marks her first TV appearence.
She started her professional acting career in 2017 in the Yale Repertory Theatre's production of Native Son. Louisa studied psychology at Vassar College and later got her acting master's degree from Yale School of Drama, where her mother also studied and graduated in 1975.
